How to Identify Authentic Imported Beauty Products in Bangladesh
A practical checklist for checking imported skincare, makeup, fragrance and grooming products before and after you buy.

Imported skincare, makeup and fragrance can be difficult to evaluate from a product photo alone. Packaging changes between markets, brands redesign labels, and the same product may be made in more than one country. A careful buyer therefore checks several signals together instead of trusting one sticker, one barcode or one unusually low price.
Before placing an order
Start with the exact product identity. Match the full name, size, shade, variation and country information shown on the listing. If a retailer only uses a generic photo or does not identify the variation, ask before ordering. On B12, the live product catalogue is the source of truth for the variation and price currently available.
Compare the price with the normal range for that product in Bangladesh. A promotion can be genuine, but a price far below every established seller deserves extra checking. Imported products include international retail cost, transport, duties, storage and local delivery; those costs do not disappear simply because a listing says “sale”.
Read the delivery and return information before paying. Beauty products can have hygiene restrictions after a seal is opened, so you should know what can be reported at delivery and what evidence the store needs if the wrong or damaged item arrives.
What to inspect when the parcel arrives
Check the outer parcel before accepting it. Photograph visible damage and record an unboxing video for a high-value order. Once opened, compare:
- the product name, volume and shade with your order;
- the printing quality, spelling and alignment on the box and container;
- the seal, pump, cap and inner packaging;
- the batch or lot information where the manufacturer provides it;
- the texture, colour and scent against reliable manufacturer information or a product you already know is genuine.
A barcode is useful for identifying a product format, but a barcode alone does not prove authenticity. Counterfeit packaging can copy a valid code. Likewise, QR codes, embossed numbers and country labels should be treated as parts of the evidence—not as a guarantee by themselves.
Packaging differences do not always mean a fake
International brands regularly update packaging. The UK, EU, US, Middle East and Asian versions of a legitimate product may carry different languages, importer labels or regulatory text. Before concluding that an item is counterfeit, compare it with the manufacturer’s current material for the same market and formulation.
Choose a store you can contact
A trustworthy buying experience includes clear contact details, product information, order records and a support channel. Anonymous marketplace listings can make accountability difficult because the platform and the individual seller may be different businesses.

A final safety note
Stop using a cosmetic if it causes unexpected irritation, swelling or discomfort. Authenticity and suitability are different questions: even an original product may not suit every skin type. Patch-test where the manufacturer recommends it and consult a qualified professional for persistent reactions or medical skin concerns.
